I chose NCL and the Epic for their southern Caribbean itenerary. This was my first cruise and I was worried about the size of the ship and the reviews of the bathroom layout.
First of all, for a 4000+ person cruise there were only a few times where I felt that crowds were an issue. That was normally at the buffet when we weren't in port. I scheduled dinners away from the buffet each night which was never an issue.
I actually really liked the room. It was super clean. There was a lot of storage and the bathrooms we're not at all an issue. It was actually nice that you didn't have to wait for someone to finish showering to use the sink or toilet. Between the curtain and frosted glass, privacy was not a concern.
The cabin was on the starboard aft side of the ship. The bed was close to the balcony rather than the bathroom area. The balcony was big enough for two chairs and a small table and the view was unobstructed if you were looking out. If you wanted to look aft, there was some mechanical stuff at the back of the ship, but you could still mostly see everything.
This was my favorite island. I'm sad that I didn't plan an excursion to see more of it, but I'm going to be sure to return.
Nice, walkable port. Watch out for the men with monkeys. I had one placed on my shoulder without permission and then was harassed for not giving the guy money. Most of the people were very nice.
