The service was excellent, but the food was mediocre, both in the dining room and at the lido buffet. Loved the entertainment on ship!
Santiago did not have much sight-seeing that interested us. We like eco-tours, and it's a very arid area.
Buenos Aires was great! We particularly liked our gaucho excursion and tango lesson.
Ushuaia was one of our favorite stops. We rented a car and went for a 10 km hike to Esmeralda Lake.
Our dinner companions told us of an excursion they did that I wish we had done. They went to a sheep farm and saw the sheep being sheered.
We were going to see a penguin colony on the Falklands, but it was cancelled due to inclement weather. We saw a few penguins in Puerto Madryn, but I never saw a king penguin during this cruise.
In Puerto Madryn we booked an excursion on-line to the peninsula to the northeast. We saw lots of wildlife - guanacos, which are like llamas, maras, which look like hares on stilts, burrowing owl, a Rhea (like an ostrich), sea lions, elephant seals and also some little armadillos.
If the food had been better, it would have been an excellent cruise!
Excellent.
