I enjoyed the role of grandparent to a 4 year old on his (and his parents') first cruise - what's not to like about a week-long sleepover. Connected balcony cabins on deck 10, lots of kids on board and a great kid's club. Many things worked really well, but I did find myself comparing RCI with my favorite Celebrity.
Ship - huge, so many amenities. But why do you have to charge for so many things?
Cabin - just great. Pleasing colors, comfortable, plenty of storage, nice balcony and bathroom.
Dining - Celebrity wins by so much. Why do you have to pay for so many venues? Why isn't the food better? For example, why do you have the same boring breakfast buffet day after day, and repeat it in the Solarium bistro where you could sneak in a healthy "adults only" variety of foods?
Entertainment and activities - pretty awesome. Thank you to the Ocean Adventure - great staff, lots for the kids. Good shows and music all over the ship.
Service - we had a fabulous room attendant, and good service everywhere.
Ports and shore excursions - sailing from NJ in winter doesn't get you much in the way of warm weather. But CocoCay was a perfect day, and the Kennedy Space Center was great.
