Overall, we recommend both the Emerald Princess and also this itinerary. We had a fabulous time and really enjoyed the trip! The Panama Canal is a "must see" for any traveler and Princess does it right! We had Traditional early dining at 5:15 in the Botticelli - it was great - very attentive staff. We also ate at SHARE (excellent) and Planks (Good). Pools were good but crowded, Movies under the Stars were great, enjoyed the Trivia shows. Room steward was good, waiters were excellent. I was not impressed with the Shore Excursion personnel or Front Desk people. Ship had just come out of dry-dock and was very clean - new areas very nice. layout is somewhat confusing. This mini-suite (D606) was very comfortable and clean. Two flat-screens on the walls. lots of outlets. Bed was comfy. Sofabed and table and chair. Lots of closet space. We overall enjoyed the excursions - especially Cartagena & Nicaragua, not so much P. Vallarta. Our "full day" transit was AWESOME - it was narrated on through-out the ship and there were tons of places, besides our balcony to go and watch. This was the Emerald's first time through the canal & it was awesome to see her just barely fit though the "new locks".

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Excellent view - comfortable. No issues. lots of outlets, now that the TV's are mounted on the wall.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

Embarktion was smooth

Huatulco

Saw what there was to see from a bus. This town is mostly a master-planned tourist town & does not have much charm - just a lot of resorts...

San Juan del Sur

Took the transfer into town & walked about... found a coat brew pub (Nica) spent some time there enjoying great brew & free wi-fi. Nice town, never worried about safety.

Fuerte Amador (Balboa)

Took a great bus tour of the old & new colonial city! Had a great driver and he pointed out all the sights to see in Old Panama City.
