getting on and off the ship was well taken care of. overall service was wonderful. the food was surprisingly only very good, not up to our expectations. we ate in the main dr. every evening at an assigned table. the lido for breakfast and lunch was just fine and more than adequate.

there is no place on the ship to enjoy the sea and scenery at a quiet pace. the crows nest has evening 'entertainment' that is loud and boisterous. those people could be anyplace on the ship, in an enclosed space and they wouldn't care. their focus is on what's happening center stage, not outside. dancing is the same thing; just find a flat space somewhere else and sell lots of booze. if you don't have a balcony, good luck.

the ship is old and a bit rusty, but still functional. everyone is OLD, AND I MEAN OLD. we are 73 and were in the younger crowd. i saw 5 kids on the ship.

Spa Verandah Suite

port side out of sd., definitely the way to go. best side of ship through the canal. if you like to hear the sea and waves, the room is right at the break from the bow to the side of the ship, lots of sea noises on the balcony. it's not really a suite, just a big room with a balcony. nice bathroom, with a jetted tub, shower combo. high step over into the tub for a shower. great location to the elevators, without crowd noise. service was excellent.

Port Reviews

Huatulco

just walked off the boat and hung out on shore. close, easy walk to the beach. i walked up a pathway to the next town, la cresita? about a 10 minute walk, a bit up hill, down a concrete, well tended walkway from the center of huatulco. great view on the way back.

Puerto Quetzal (Antigua)

talked to a van driver out of the port and 6 of us paid $36 total, each, for a somewhat guided tour to antigua. the city was spectacular. open a doorway into a seemingly average business and they'd show you into a fabulous courtyard. the chocolate factory was great. they give classes through the day, for a small price(that i don't remember). the central market, by the bus station was really interesting. (not the craft market). everything we wanted to see was in easy walking distance. 5 min. or less at an easy pace

Corinto

great tour with reynaldo. found him on trip advisor. cortinotours.com i think. since there were 10 of us, he charged $60 each for all day, with drinks and an airconditioned van. we went to the local bakery and cathedral in a nearby town and then to leon and back. he would do whatever you asked and made suggestions along the way.
