Chose the new ship based on previous excellent experience with HA on Veendam. Sevice and food (a particularly big concern as wife has extreme allergies) always met or exceeded expectations. Staff throughout couldn't have been better. The ship itself, though, was a major disappointment. It appeared as though everything was primed, but no finish color was added... anywhere. Just a relentless barrage of white, beige and sometimes a splash of yellow. There isn't a single venue on the ship that delivers a "Wow" response when you see it. The Dining Room is especially bewildering... 2 stories of NOTHING. An endless sea of white and beige, sort of like a high end nursing home. The Atrium is just a 2 story swirl of some metal. It sure looks like every possible expense was cut in putting the decor together. Saved millions, no doubt. Only experienced Classical Quintet and BB King's Band, which were both terrific. Rock Band was generic and we fled quickly. Never saw or heard of the Dueling Pianos. Grand Dutch Cafe had nothing of interest. Lido food was a big upgrade over any other ship we've been on.
Very efficient. Chose handicap room as wife has mobility issues, this worked out very well. Beige throughout, though. Boring, Boring, Boring. Room steward (Sugi) was terrific!
Great overview of the island and saw plenty of fish. Guide (Teran) was terrific.
View All undefined undefined ReviewsThe tour and driver/guide were very good, but there is simply little to see. The island is very small, 5000 people total, and even if the buildings damaged in 2017 had been restored, they are just government offices and small residences. Grand Turk might be worthwile for beach activities, snokel or scuba, etc. But except for those, there's simply nothing here but 1500 wild donkeys and John Glenn's space capsule.
