Departure city

Our cruise departed out of New Orleans. We chose to arrive on Wednesday, two days early, and utilized the free/reduced airfare offered by NCL paying only the $25 fee for our flights. Our flight was out of Ohare Airport in Chicago through Delta connecting to a Delta flight out of Atlanta. We arrived in New Orleans around 6pm and had an easy time getting an Uber out of the airport. The drive was about 30min to our hotel right next to the French Quarter. We were able to walk to the restaurant Napoleons and Café Beignet that night. Thursday we took the streetcar to the WWII museum and toured the Garden district. We went to Deanie's Seafood restaurant for dinner and walked around Jackson Square as well. All in all, the small taste of New Orleans we had was perfect before our cruise and made me want to go back to have a full experience soon!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Our room was just as expected. We had the mini suite room. The room part of it was the same as a regular cabin, but the bathroom we had was much larger. The larger shower area and the double sinks came in handy a lot throughout our trip. We were both able to get ready in the morning and evening without feeling like we were getting in each others way. The closet space was perfect for us, and we utilized the vanity area to house our electronics and documents. The pillows and blankets were comfortable enough, but the bed left something to be desired. It was hard and had a seam in the middle where the two twin beds were pushed together. As everyone does, I wish there were outlets by the beds to charge my phone, but I made it through just fine.

Harvest Caye

We did not have anything planned for this day excursion wise. We just went to the pool on the island and relaxed. The pool is very big and was very nice since it was so hot out that day. We never felt like the pool area was crowded or anything.
