We chose this cruise because the family took our mother-in-law who is 88 on a cruise. She did not want to be gone for more than 5 days.

Rist was everywhere on the ship, this was a bit disconcerting. There was only one good entertainment, the violin players, Isabel and Juan. The Piano Bar singer was the worst. The dancers tried and did a good job with what they had to work with. The theatre had minimal props and entertainer support. The costumes were dull and looked like 2nd had store leftovers.

The dining room food was flavorless and took a very long time to arrive. My favorite, the chocolate melting cake, was always room temperature and doughy.

Cabin Review

Grand Suite

The cabin decor was dated, but the room was very big. The bathroom was small, but good. There was a large pole in our room next to the bed. It creaked at night and kept us awake. The cabin was one of the better parts of the cruise. We enjoyed the space. Our room steward was just OK. The morning cleaning often did not happen until the afternoon.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

We rented a van for the day through Carnival. The driver took us to numerous tourist shps he obviously had connections with. It was not at all what we expected or wanted.
