The cruise was part of Imagine Cruising itinerary for our cruise of the Indian Coast. We would never have chosen Costa Cruises as their reputation precedes them. But with good intentions we went ahead. Rather a dated ship to say the least. Exceedingly Italian, but we could live with that. The cabin was adequate if a little crammmed in. Certainly no luxuries.
The Restaurant Manager listened to our table request and on the second d night we had our ideal table with a lovely friendly and efficient waiter Jayson. Overall we enjoyed the food selections throughout our cruise and our included wine package of topped up wine at lunch and dinner was fine for us. The additional beverage packages were far too expensive. Plus when you purchased any other drinks outside the package the additional service charge was added.
Then we left our cabin for the evening on our third night, ensuring that our door was locked, as it needed a good pull to do this, at around 7pm returning at 11pm.
Tight in shower room. Bed adequate. Storage adequate. Do Not Use Safe. Check door is shut properly, doesn’t always shut.
We went to the Gateway to India ourselves, ripped off by taxi drivers as expected
