We decided to escape winter for a bit and took our second Viking ocean cruise because of the great itinerary.....2 nights in Puerto Rico and a port a day. It didn't disappoint, with perfect weather. We had included bus transfer from our hotel to the port, and the embarkation was the simplest ever....we walked up to a table and they gave us our room keys and tickets for our shore excursions. The ship is for adults, elegant and easy to explore.

Our cabin was ready early and it already had our luggage in it. We had a deluxe veranda cabin on deck 4 and it was comfortable and spotless. There is a lack of drawer space, but the bathroom is very spacious. Our cabin attendant, Michael, was unobtrusive but was always there for us if we needed anything. I loved the soft, squishy pillows but my husband wanted a firmer one, and it was provided almost immediately.

The breakfast and lunch buffets had a varied assortment of food and the pool grill had good burgers and a salad bar. We ate dinner most nights in The Restaurant and the food was uniformly good. It was especially nice having a destination menu every night. The service seemed more harried than our last cruise, it seems like they have less staff because our first 3 waiters didn't even have time to introduce themselves, talk about the food or check back with us. We finally found Singh and Azri, who were excellent. We had the beverage package, so the sommelier, Enea was very helpful and knowledgeable making recommendations from the premium wines. We ate 2 nights at the Chef's Table and both meals and wine pairings were delicious. Mamsen's during the day has delicious desserts.
