We have cruised Princess several times . looking forward to Majestic but have to rate it around a 3 out of 5. Layout seems to be a bit disjointed ! ie seems whereever there was a small area with nothing in they just plonked something there - ie small bar area. - another internet area - there are 2 of these 1 has 2 terminals and a very very small selection of books(ie library) and the other from memory has 4 or 5 - not many considering the size of the ship. The market place buffet was very confusing - long and segregated sections - if you wanted sweets/'desserts you had to walk ALL the way back to nearly the beginning - older style layout is much much better for the amount of people. cabin fabulous L108. entertainment was average but production shows as usual were great. Pizza area was downstairs and was a restaurant - would have loved this upstairs on pool deck. Service was really just on what was expected - nothing exceptional here. First time I was worried about my safety in PORT VILA - seems they are so desperate for the cruise work they have no consideration for the passengers when trying to get out the gate on the wharf - security and police had to forceably push them back to allow the passengers to even get out the gate. This is a worry and have sent an email to Port Vila as a complaint.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin was fabulous and was overwhelmed actually but even though the balcony is massive ( could fit 20 people on it ) it was not used at all on sea days as the wind was horrific - this apparently is how it always is - the view though when coming into port was great - Bed very very comfortable - tv / movie selection great - and room service was prompt but on this note ordered a hamburger with fries one night and it arrived cold and limp so didnt bother again. the balcony breakfast although we had inside as it was a sea day and couldnt use the balcony was fabulous although way way to much food. The skywalk was great although for me a little daunting.

Port Reviews

Noumea

we really dont like Noumea at all ( sorry guys ) but on saying that we always visit the market at the actual port - (ship will either dock there or you are given a FREE shuttle off the working wharf nearby ) to the market. They take Aussie dollars inside and the market choice is great - but as soon as you walk out of the market you will pay FRANC

Lifou

this is a beautiful spot and if you have the energy ( you need to do it once in your lifetime) take the walk up to the church on the cliff top - along a bitumen road for around 500 metres and then up the side of the hill - bit rough walking but there is a handrail - remember to take some water and just stop along the way for a rest - the view at the top is fabulous and it makes you wonder how did they build it up there plus how did they get the statue there it is enormous.

Port Vila

i will still rate this port as one of my favourite ( fabulous duty free ) and you can now get a water taxi ( $5.00 ) into the town if that is all you want to do. but venture outside and barter for a cab ( dont pay until you get back - around 50.00 - 70.00 is all we EVER pay) this does not include any entrance fees remember but much cheaper to do this than buying on board. We have done the waterfalls a couple of times and the driver will usually chat on the way and point out some interest points. This current cruise I was a bit scared (yes scared) on the wharf trying to get out as the drivers who are waiting to grab a deal with you became quite ferocious in their attempts to get your business to the point the security and the police forceably had to push them back to allow access to passengers to get out the wharf gate - I have sent a complaint to the Vila authorities to voice my concerns - hopefully this wont happen again as its such a beautiful place and gorgeous people.

Dravuni Island

we swam here and the water and enviroment was fabulous. cant wait to visit and swim again

Lautoka

walked the market along the street here and visited a couple of shops - rustic but nice
