We did a pre cruise to Paris and had a MARVELOUS time. Super tour of Paris too. We then headed to Lyon by train....no concerns!!! They bused us to the ship and we got on board with a lovely lunch. Only problem, the temps in Europe were outrageous! 100 degrees plus most of the trip! We drank LOADS of water needless to say!!! Our cabin was small but we were very comfortable. We had a standard cabin which was perfect. All our stops and land excursions were amazing. We purchased a couple of ones and they too went beyond our expectations !!!! The river itinerary was excellent!!! The food was beyond outstanding!!!! Always something for everyone. The wines were excellent too (we did not have a beverage package). The entertainment was good, especially the locals coming on board for the evening!!! We were lucky one of our travel companions is a performer and the pianist allowed her to sing!!!! We made many friends onboard too. This is our second river boat cruise and it was just as wonderful as the first one!!!! We'll be back! :) Also need to mention, we used Viking air and it was perfect. Thanks, Viking, for a wonderful celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary!!!!
