This was not a typical Vicing ocean cruise - it was the 30 day second leg of the round the world cruise, going from Valparaiso, Chile to Sidney, Australia. We chose it specifically to see Australia and New Zealand, and also Easter Island, all on our bucket list. There were only ~300 passengers booked on the entire round the world tour, and only ~400 additional who rode the second leg like us, so only 700 of possible 930 passengers.
Because of the distances involved 20 of the 30 days were at sea cruising, unlike most shorter cruises that are primarily shore stops with few days at sea. With fewer passengers and long time together, everyone. crew and passengers alike, were soon really friends.
Several activity had been set up because we were all going to be aboard together so long (bridge club, knitting and needlework club, veterans groups, etc.) that are not normally done on shorter cruises.
There is more than ample storage space in this category stateroom, even for this long duration cruise which had the need to bring clothes for two entirely different seasons.
N/A - water at dock was too rough for tenders to safely land. We learned that this is very common problem at this location. The Viking local official was able to board and we had an interesting narrated tour arroun the island instead.
Second disappointment was finding that the famous heads actually face inland, and were mooning us out at sea.
