Sunset! I took dozens of photos of the sky.
Our spacious Penthouse Veranda

Having enjoyed river cruises with Viking before, this was our first Viking Ocean Cruise. Everything about it was absolute quality. The ship was a joy in every way. Staff could not have been more helpful, our stateroom stewards were excellent, the restaurant manager was outstanding, and the entertainment first rate. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say. The scenery was breathtaking, particularly the Norwegian Fjords. My advice is to get up very early and don't miss the arrival at each destination. Each one was even better than the previous one!

There is something for everyone on this cruise. We were delayed departing for our day in Berlin, due to an electrical fault on the train, but a later return was arranged so that we didn't miss out on time in the city, then what a reception on our return! Bubbles and snacks for everyone as they walked towards the ship, with all the staff lined up to greet us. Then in staterooms an apology, a bottle of wine and a lovely light supper in case we felt it was too late to dine, though dining facilities were also open late. That's service!

I couldn't recommend this cruise highly enough.

Cabin Review

For this cruise we chose a Penthouse Veranda, which was perfect and well worth the extra. There was lots of space for storage and clothes, a large comfortable seating area, a spacious balcony, well stocked shower room etc. Pressing was included, and our mini-bar was re-stocked daily, included in the price, as well as a bottle of sparkling wine on arrival. Our steward made sure there was ice for us, and of course room service is inclusive.
