Sail Date: Jan 2020
Cabin: Sky Suite 1

We decided on this cruise because of the itinerary. We had not previously been to this part of South America. We usually cruise Celebrity and enjoy S-Class ships like Eclipse. The ship was very well maintained in all areas but it will be updated in April 2021.

Pre-cruise: We flew Philadelphia/Miami/Santiago on American Airlines. Long trip. We stayed a couple of days in Santiago at Hotel Plaza San Francisco. Unfortunately it was very close to the area subject to the government protests so we would not recommend it. On the day of the cruise we arranged for a group of us from Cruise Critic to share transport to the San Antonio port.

Embarkation: Long lines but we had a suite so we were ushered through. The San Antonio terminal was a large tent. It seemed kind of chaotic. Celebrity took everybody's passports and they were returned later in the cruise. We went to Luminae for lunch before going to our cabin. The ship had an issue getting a fuel delivery and we departed 6 hours late.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 1

Our cabin was a corner aft Sky Suite on Deck 11 starboard side which you enter at the end of the hall through a doorway leading into a private foyer. It had a very large wrap-around balcony. The window washing equipment was parked below us on deck 10 but it did not obstruct our view. This cabin was extra large with a nice porthole window next to the sofa. There were two structural poles- one near the bed and one near the sofa. We got used to them. There was a lot of storage space. The bed was comfortable. Electrical outlet was on the desk area - but outlets will be added near the bed on the refurbishment in April 2021. TV was flat screen across from the bed. The overall furniture and carpeting were showing their age a bit. The bathroom was very nice with a tub/shower combination. We would occasionally have an issue with the toilet not flushing but it was usually corrected very soon. The cabin came with a butler and a room steward. Both provided exceptional service.
