Our cabin was spacious with functional furniture having clean, simple lines.  We got some great  photos from our veranda in port and during the cruise.  The spacious bathroom with heated floor, and Freyja toiletries were nice touches..

Two housekeeping staff looked after our room with perfection, and asked us if there was anything else they could provide.

Although the guide for this included tour (Panaromic Bergen) provided interesting information about the Bergen, we did not find this excursion memorable.

We loved this excursion (Ascent of Mt. Ulriken) because the views and scenery were breathtaking and we experienced being in the clouds momentarily as fog left as quickly as it came.  We wished that we could have been there longer to hike the trails.  We enjoyed coffee and treat at the mountaintop restaurant.

We found the 8.5 hour excursion to Voss, Geilo & Bergen Railway to be too long.  Some of the scenery is spectacular en route to Skjervsfossen Waterfall.  Buffet lunch at Fleischer's Hotel had a wide variety of food to select from. The Vøringsfossen Waterfall near Fossli Hotel was the highlight of our trip.  This excursion had a wide variety of scenery ranging from beautiful scenery near Ulvik to tundra like views in the Hardangervidda mountain plateau.

Eidfjord

We enjoyed the guided walking tour in Stavanger and were pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed being in the Oil Museum.  We wish that we could have stayed longer to explore more of the museum.

This was part of a combined excursion entitled Oslo Highlights &amp; Vigeland Park that involved a bus tour to view various sites such as the Oslo City Hall, Akershus Fortress, Royal Palace, Parliament and the National Theater with a visit to the world-famous ski jump at Holmenkollen. The ski jump was the most interesting part of this excursion.

This was part of a combined excursion entitled Oslo Highlights & Vigeland Park.  We found the Vigeland Sculpture Park to be beautiful showing the circle of life through statues that conveyed movement and emotion.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting these three museums (Viking Ship, Fram, and Kon-Tiki) during this excursion (Vikings & Norwegian Explorers).  Highlights of each museum were: two well-preserved viking ships; interior of the Fram, and the Northern Light Show viewed from the main deck; the Kon-Tiki and Ra crafts that sailed about 4,300 and 3,000 mile journeys, respectively.

The Gothenburg Panorama excursion was a bus tour that went over the 3,060-foot-long Alvsborg Bridge and past some local landmarks.  After a photo stop by the sculpture of the Greek god Poseidon created by Carl Milles in 1923, we visited Gustav Adolfs Square, named after the city’s founder.  En route back to our ship we stopped at a lovely quaint church for some photos.

Gothenburg

We toured the Voergaard Manor House which is a beautifully maintained Renissance manor house with a private art collection, fabuous antiques and pieces of furniture.  We started the tour by visiting the dungeon, and finished the tour in a large room upstairs with a light snack featuring a glass of Péan wine from the count’s own winery.

Aalborg

There is so much to see in Berlin with important historical significance that it is impossble to see it all in a few hours.  Our excursion included a guided bus tour that identified some historic landmarks with useful commentary by our guide.  We decided to start the tour at the Brandenburg Gates after eating at a restaurant near our drop-off / pick-up point.  Unfortunately our planned self-guided walking tour was interrupted because we were there during a day of mass protest.  

Although the transportation between the ship and Berlin was very well organized, we found the 12 hour day to be too long.  Our rating is for the guided bus tour.

This was a delightful walking tour entitled Christiansborg Palace & Tivoli Gardens led by another very informative guide.  The palace is simply beautiful and elegant.  We enjoyed strolling through Tivoli Gardens and were fortunate to see a performance by a marching band.

This was a delightful walking tour led by a very informative guide.  We covered a lot of ground (The Little Mermaid to Nyhavn) at a lesurely pace with stops at several points of interest such as Gefion Fountain, Kastellet, Amalienborg Palace.

We were amazed at the food selection at the World Cafe where we always enjoyed lattes.Although there are several restaurants, we usually ate breakfast and lunch in the World Cafe and supper in The Restaurant.
