Having cruised twice before and frequented the nightlife this cruise was to experience the offerings of the ship Sea Princess and we were not disappointed!

Professional, disciplined management led to an amazing experience of locations and its people in Papua New Guinea and the Conflict Islands.Highlights were endless, but particularly enjoyed visiting a school and hospital in Alotau, war memorials in Rabaul, a turtle hatchery and snorkelling from a pontoon on Panasesa Island, staying till the last tender, late night shows, dancing in the Legends Bar and on the outdoor deck disco, sauna swim, afternoon cocktails at sunset and early morning laps in the deck pool! Food was amazing as was the Steakhouse experience!

Staff hospitality was second to none and individual service was outstanding! Unique to this cruise was the delivery of lectures on Australia's war history in the Pacific and the dynamics of modern piracy! Lectures were always at full capacity!

Cabin Review

Oceanview

Sanitised, regularly serviced cabin, with fittings to accomodate all passengers. Hot showers, comfortable sleeping, great views and a chocolate each night! Our house steward was always mindful of any needs...mine was remembering the cabin number?

Port Reviews

Brisbane

Linking flight from Newcastle to Brisbane and onto Brisbane Terminal via shuttle for embarkation was seamless.

Alotau

A short drive in an air conditioned bus to the village where displays of cooking and cultural practices were displayed.

Rabaul

Most fascinating day (6 hours) of Japanese tunnels and war memorials with a snapshot of island life along the drive!

Rabaul

Walked the volcanic area and mixed with the locals to discuss their experiences in living in a fragile environment.

Rabaul

Informative talk and display on the seismic activity of Rabaul and Tanavurvur eruption. Guide was anxious to complete the tour to return for new clients at the dock.

Kiriwina (Papua New Guinea)

Amazing experience at Kitava where we met a guide who had previously met a group member. Therefore we were walked to the local village and met the locals cooking, sewing and recounting their life experiences.

Kiriwina was a dynamic island with many cultural dance displays, endless market trade as neighbouring islands were also involved. Stayed till the last tender and experienced the dynamic interactions of the local trading market...produce such as fish and flour carried on heads and bartering of fried bread for shark.
