We were quite interested in seeing the Northern Lights in Norway but also wanted to see the way people lived in this country, which is colder and darker than our part of Canada in the winter. We also expected, based on a previous European river cruise with Viking, that the service aboard would be fantastic and the ground excursions would be interesting and educational.

On all fronts, we were more than satisfied. Our only regret is that, due to weather, we only saw faint Northern Lights on one occasion despite several inland excursions specifically to see them, but the clouds did not cooperate!

The dining was excellent - lots of choices at the different venues on the ship and superlative service by all the staff, especially in the dining room at Ravi's table!

Cabin Review

The cabin was comfortable for two people and small enough to ensure we always put things where they belonged to avoid clutter! The view out the sliding doors during the cruising of the Inner Passage was spectacular. The choice of entertainment on the TV was really good and we never had trouble with WiFi so we could stay in touch with friends back home.

Port Reviews

Bergen

Very colourful buildings and staff were all quite helpful to us Canadian tourists.

Bergen

We were very interested to hear about the history of Bergen and the great fire that swept through the wooden buildings.

Alta

We went to the Sami camp for a reindeer sled ride and lunch in a large tepee. It was cold but very memorable!
