This was our first Viking trip on its 930 passenger Viking Star, having taken two river cruises with them in the past. All aspects of the ship facilities, travel, dining and related experiences were sensitive to passenger needs and priorities. The ship is exquisite. Common space for reading, leisure activities, on deck seating, and open space was so expansive that we always felt comfortable. The on boarding and off-boarding experiences were exceptionally well-planned and executed, so we never felt cramped.

The cabins and exterior seating on the balcony added to our positive experiences. Most day trips were carefully chosen, although one or two give pause for re-thinking. A half day in Old Kotor Square? Really? Some of the optional tours, such as the excursion to Delphi, were extraordinarily informative. All onboard staff and tour guides were highly professional, well-trained and eager to serve. We elected to begin the day with room service for breakfast, and were highly pleased. The food quality was consistently outstanding. The menus varied enough to keep the dining experience interesting. Here too, the service was exceptional. Based upon our high level of satisfaction, we’ve already booked our next Mediterranean cruise with Viking. In summation, all aspects our the Viking travel experience were carefully-planned and well-executed.
