We were looking for a Christmas/New year cruise and this seemed to fit the bill. Big Mistake. Cabin was a little small and could do with more storage. Balcony was small compared to other ships. The pillows were particularly uncomfortable. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the cabin and hairdryer provided though it's a bit weak. The housekeeping was not to the standard of other cruise lines.
In the Golden Lobster Restaurant the meal portions were small, and the sweets and cheese board were miniscule, the menu descriptions were almost fictitious. The "Butchers Cut" speciality dining definitely needs cutting. We pre-booked for 31st December back in July and in spite of having a voucher, there was no booking for us. The service and attitude of the staff was rude and appalling and the price of meal up grades was exorbitant and the condiments and accoutrements with the meal were tiny and mean. None of it was in anyway good value.
There seemed to be some confusion from bar to bar over what the premium plus drinks package entitled us to. The bar and restaurants were continually running out of wine and beer. You get the impression it's being run on a shoestring.
A little small. Could do with more storage. The bathroom door and the wardrobe door were opposite each other making life awkward when getting dressed. Hairdryer is a bit weak if you're using it for styling. The bottom bed sheet was never smoothed out or tucked in for some reason and pillows were really uncomfortable. The cleanliness was up to the standard we found on other ships.
