We went on a cruise 30 years ago and swore we would NEVER cruise again. We heard wonderful things about Viking and decided to give it a try. We are so happy we did. From the time we boarded the ship to the last step off, everyone was wonderful. Our cabin steward, James could not have been more attentive. We dined in all the restaurants and enjoyed each one. We did select the Silver beverage package and received special wine parings with all our meals. It was well worth it.

The included excursions are good as a survey of the area. We ended up doing quite a few purchased tours such as making pasta in Florence. We did the Gaudi special access tour in Barcelona. The first of the tour was very nice being able to access his first work before it opened to the public. However, later when touring one of the later works after it opened to the public was not so nice. We only made it to the 2nd of 4 floors and didn't feel safe. The hallways and stairs were very narrow most of the way and were packed wall to wall with people. It did not feel safe at all. We ended up leaving the group and going on our own to explore the city. Keep in mind, crowds do not bother me at all. I am not claustrophobic at all. We have been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, times square in New York, and many other places with high populations in small areas, so for this to bother me tells you it was very bad. I would not recommend this for anyone who has trouble walking or standing for extended periods of time.

Back to the good stuff. The cabin was very spacious. We were not lacking for storage at all. Each night, we would receive a brochure of the next days itinerary. Disembarking was very smooth. Buses were waiting for us at each port and the transition was went very quick.

Cabin Review

Very spacious. Had plenty of drawer and hanging space. Loved the veranda.
