We had been interested in a River cruise for a few years & Viking always was #1 on the list. The 8-day Romantic Danube was awesome. The ship, Egil, was wonderful. Loved our cabin w/balcony & the whole staff was friendly & answered any questions. Being able to sit anywhere in dining allowed you to meet & make new friends. The evening entertainment with the staff was funny & the pianist was there every evening for dancing. Each excursion, both included & purchased, had very informed guides & were never rushed. We even did an all day excursion of Vienna with only the 2 of us & the guide. It surprised us that it wasn’t cancelled for lack of more people. The only disappointing part was our extended stay in Budapest. It rained which slowed us down, but didn't stop us, from enjoying the city completely A special thanks to cruise director, Oliver, who assisted me in, as he said, “a little hiccup”. Not so - it was a BIG hiccup & he saved the cruise for me. We really enjoyed that no children are allowed. Many thx Viking for an awesome vacation. Hoping to do another in the future.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

We converted a double bed into 2 twins which meant we loss some floor space but it was still good. Enjoyed the balcony. Loved the heated floor in the bath.
