We went on this cruise to share time with family, to escape cool weather and visit San Juan. We spent 3 days in San Juan, disappointing in these times where counties we have visited have prospered. True there had been a hurricane, but very little signs of real growth on their own, just milking what they could get from the US. Overpriced goods and poor food.
To us a cruise is measured by three things: 1) ship and Serenity was at least a 7. Embarking was a 10, debarking was a 4. Ship was well maintained, we have sailed it before and really missed the evening buffet. Our suite, was fine. 2) Service, as usual Crystal was a 10. 3) this was our third, and now, after the horrible food, our last. WHAT happened, did a bean counter insist n lowering costs and food was the only option? Rating - 2, compared to prior Crystal, Regent and Oceania cruises.
Comfortable, well maintained, nice veranda, nice shower, good butler, GREAT housekeeping.
