We like repositioning cruises. We liked previous Carnival cruises. We had even been on this ship before and enjoyed it. This cruise was chaos from the time we tried to book until we got off - the only thing that went smoothly was disembarkation.
Getting on the ship in Singapore was difficult and unnecessarily complex. We hadn't been allowed by Carnival Australia to prebook shore excursions so we had mostly booked private tours ahead of time but for 2 stops, we needed to book shore excursions after we got on board - this took hours and hours with the line up curling all around the deck where people were getting on and staff who couldn't answer any questions running around in vests that said "ask me". It was downhill from there.
There were so many thing wrong with our cabin - shower, bedside light, safe and TV not working - it was horrible. Fortunately our cabin staff were lovely and very helpful.
Shower was broken, bedside light was broken, safe broke down every time we went on shore and really needed it. The television wasn't fixed until day 7 and then we lost the satellite.
Our cabin crew were wonderful - very helpful and polite. Did their best to get stuff fixed for us
