Why not spent some nights on the Queen Elizabeth as part of Pre Xmas celebrations, I thought. We were on her not so long ago in Feb and then in April on her way to Japan for the Sakura or Cherry Blossom. So this is really, a novel way for us to past the time away. We were just back from her sister ship in the Med in Sept. Making the best use of her while she is in Australian waters. Otherwise, it will be a long flight to London and coach to Southampton.

We note some differences sailing here and in Europe. Some of our Aussies are pretty laid back to the point that some wear, thongs and shorts and T-shirts for the evening performances in the Royal Court Theatre and other places in the evening. It is like a country bush setting for some of them and they might be missing the salient point of cruising on the Cunard. We have heard previous comedians joking about the Aussie dressing standards which you have to laugh when you think about how true it is. Seriously, couldn't some of them put a little bit more effort to dress and look good for one's sake and lend a bit more ambience to the evening for everyone's sake.

Britannia served some excellent food and lobsters, my favourite marine crustacean delicacy on the 2 formal nights and on 3 other nights. This totally, repudiated my one gripe about the lack of lobster when we were sailing on the Queen Victoria in Sep/Oct.
