Embarkation - Getting too the port by Uber was really pretty trouble free. While getting our key cards we were haven guests but they gave us the wrong cards. We didn't wait too long in the Haven waiting room , and we were escorted aboard.

Dining - I was a little under whelmed with the buffet. Deserts was mostly cakes and not a lot of variety, and the soups were odd ball flavor's. On the plus side the omelette station was good, and the soft serve ice cream machines were terrific. Never had a problem finding a table too sit at. We never dined in the main dining room. The Haven dining was as good as any specialty restaurant, and the service was really good. Cagney's was great food, but the service was slow and they seemed overwhelmed there. The table next too us waited for an hour for their meal. Moderno the meats were great, good service, nice salad bar, but the sides were nothing I really cared for, but surprised myself by liking the fried yucca. Le Bistro again good service, a little on the slow side, good food. Teppanyaki the food was good, the cook was entertaining , my fillet mignon was seasoned so good. Waiter never came by and asked if we needed anything too drink. Ate at Margaritaville and it was just ok, we had nachos which I thought could use more meat on them, and pretzel sticks.

Entertainment - the Million Dollar Quartet was perhaps the best show I've seen on a cruise. Burn the Floor was good, I wish maybe they would have danced too more songs I knew. The magician was funny and good. Seating for the shows in the theater seemed too not be a problem, plenty of seats seemed available. The cirque and steam show was good, not great, the meal had some odd items served. Dueling pianos was very good enjoyed it many nights. Entertainment in the Atrium was frustrating, just no seating. Never could get in too see the comedians the place was always full, I guess we had too get in line and wait before the show started. Just briefly caught the Switch band in Syd Normans they were good, and wish I could have caught their show. Karaoke their was entertaining. The 70's disco party outdoors at Spice H2O was a lot of fun. All in all I thought the night life was pretty good aboard the Getaway.

Cabin Review

The Haven Forward-Facing Penthouse with Balcony

The room was real nice. Liked the fact there was a separate sitting room, with a TV in both rooms. The bathroom was so nice with all the room, and a door where the toilet was. We never used the separate bath tub. The balcony was small, you can sit out their but no stretching out and lying out on the balcony. We never used the butler for anything, almost wish they's give you an option too not have a butler and knock a little off the cabin fare. We used the Haven courtyard very little, but did enjoy a quiet hot tub one evening. As far as concierge services we never used them either. I had meals and shows booked months before even getting on the cruise. So I was a little underwhelmed with the haven amenities.
