My wife and I booked a back to back cruise around South East Asia with Costa for their cheap balcony pricing and attractive port itinerary. We read a lot of mediocre at best reviews of Costa and decided to give them a chance in hopes we would have good luck. Upon arrival to Singapore we were immediately upset with the logistics of the cruise line. We stood in line for two hours to embark only to find out that there was no first come first serve embarkation only assigned number groups. There was absolutely no announcements or notification of this. Hundreds of people were also affected. After we boarded we went directly to our jail cell of a room. The queen bed was beyond ten years old, both twin beds were in the shape of U's from the guests past. Very clearly needed to be replaced. The air conditioning did not even turn on, and the toilet in the bathroom was full of urine upon arrival. After countless phone calls with the "hospitality" desk there was absolutely no sort of satisfaction. The guest services representatives were rude and lacked any sort of compassion. Unfortunately it gets worse, the food on the ship was far from satisfying. Every night my wife and I would try foods in their one dining hall and the buffet in hopes to find something tasty but failed to do so every time. Every night we found the same food on the buffet being served in the sit down restaurant after the buffet closed. There was one night I accidentally dropped a piece of beef on the ground next to the pool area and not two but three cockroaches ran out from under the table to feed on it. I have photo's of this to support that statement. Costa has no concern what so ever for their guests satisfaction or well-being what so ever. Every day was an argument with hospitality to try and achieve some sort of satisfaction. My wife booked two massages and decided to cancel them 72 hours in advance whilst their policy requires only 24. The massage therapist charged us immediately upon booking even though our massages weren't until the next week and then when we decided to cancel we were told that we couldn't just cancel. We had to submit a request to Costa for a cancellation and wait until the last day of our cruise for a refund which we still have not received. Needless to say we will never consider ever spending another penny with this worthless company. I feel so terrible for the couples who spent their wedding gift money on a honeymoon trip with Costa. Please save yourselves the heart ache and disappointment and book with a reputable cruise line! P.S. we have done multiple cruises with multiple companies and are not hard to please when it comes to hospitality.

Cabin Review

Balcony Classic

The queen bed was beyond ten years old, both twin beds were in the shape of U's from the guests past. Very clearly needed to be replaced. The air conditioning did not even turn on, and the toilet in the bathroom was full of urine upon arrival. The mini bar was never onced restocked and we left a used glass in one of the windowsills behind the curtain next to the bed to see if the room was thuroughly being cleaned and that glass remained there for the entire two weeks.

Port Reviews

Singapore

My wife and I hired a local cab driver to bring us around Sentosa and the Bay Gardens area, we had a great time without the headache of a crowded excursion.

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

Costa offered a bus to the city of pattaya which is filled with nothing but people selling fake designer products and illicit massage parlors. very unsatisfied with the port

Sihanoukville

I had a very hard time understanding why Costa would feel this was a justified port to stop in. We did not feel safe at any point at this port. The streets right outside of the dock were filled with garbage and no safety precations were taken what so ever to assure traveler safety out in town.

Langkawi

Had a great beach day parasailing and wakeboarding on our own. The excursions Costa offered were significantly over priced
