We are long time Celebrity cruisers..Elite Plus..and have been generally happy with our cruises. However, I wanted to find out what we are missing by not booking a 6 star ship. Nice ship, but not nearly worth the up charge involved. Back to Celebrity.

The ship is one of Silversea's older and smaller (28,000 tons), but it had been refurbished just before this cruise. The ship's interior is lovely. All public rooms and our suite were very tastefully done and very comfortable. The suite(a veranda suite) is roughly equivalent to Celebrity's Sky Suites. There is no escaping, however, that this is a small ship, and the motion of the ocean is quite noticeable, even in relatively calm seas. Rough water would be a very rough ride.

The food was absolutely the star of the cruise. We were unable to get a reservation in the highly touted, extra charge restaurant La Dame, but the food and service in the other open seating restaurants, La Terrazza and The Restaurant, were exceptional. Better than Celebrity's specialty restaurants. The Grill has very good poolside lunches, but it's not a favorite for dinner.
