We chose because of the Panama Canal. The cruise was good; the weather was fabulous. It's always nice to sit on the verandah and enjoy the ocean. Unfortunately, between the noisy room, the 8-9 choices on the TV (with no guide), the substandard internet and predictable food (after 5 days, I didn't know what to eat), we were very disappointed. The hamburgers were fabulous, but how many days in a row can you eat a hamburger? The made-to-order pizza was also good. Ditto on how many times in 10 days you can eat a pizza. Did I mention that there is no more music in the bars? The main entertainment was a comedian, a singer or a group of singers (like Backstreet Boys). As we have seen in the past, the crew is very friendly and accomodating, and this cruise was no exception. Unfortunately, HAL was our very first cruise over 30 years ago. We think back on that cruise and compare it to this one and say, "My, how things have changed."
Even though it is at the end of the hall, we were not told, not did our travel agent know that this room and adjacent are not only across from the ice machine, there is also a room service station at the very end of the hall --- very NOISY.
