Last year we had taken a cruise on the Norwegian Gem's Haven class suites through the Caribbean and had a great time in a 2 bedroom suite. Sea days were passed by the pool or the sun deck in a relaxed atmosphere where guests sipped on cocktails, read a good book or just relaxed and took sun. Service was excellent, meals were served by the pool if you didn't feel like moving and there were only adults, a sanctuary as advertised.

Based on such a great experience on the Gem, we decided to book another cruise on the Pearl leaving October 1 for a 13 day Mediterranean cruise through Italy and Greece in the Haven suite. We had also started planning our future cruise next year with friends and family to Asia and in our mind, nobody offered a more relaxed and exclusive service than Haven class.

This time everything that made the Haven so special last year and exclusive had completely changed from not having any cruise adviser assigned to us when we booked to let us know that we needed to book all of our specialty restaurants for 13 days before embarking, to the Airport transfer which was not well organized and we did not expect to wait almost an hour on the second level of a double decker bus with no Air Conditioning after an 8 hour flight. I should have taken a Taxi or Viatour. There was no special line to pass security for Haven passengers on this cruise which we had in New York on the GEM. The return to the airport was just as bad and I would not recommend the airport transfer in Rome.

Cabin Review

It seemed a little tighter than the sat cabin on the gem
