Upon arriving to the pier in the beginning and not seeing the ship already there was a bit of a downer, but due to a large storm there wasn't much to be done about that. When we were finally allowed to get in line to go through security was a chaotic mess (to put it nicely). It was like the crew never dealt with crowds before. After going through security things were fairly organized. The room was to be expected. I thought the layout of the bathroom was the best cabin bathroom I've experienced. Rectangle shower, separated toilet area with door. The food was mediocre. Basic food that can be ordered at any ordinary restaurant. There wasn't a large options for food on the menu. The entertainment in the theater was also mediocre half the dancers seemed to be new at dancing. The activities and entertainment put on by the cruise director was better. My 2 favorite games were "Not so Newlyweds " and "the Perfect Couple". My 2 young children went too. They enjoyed the Splash Academy (kid's club), which I thought was a good group of staff that offered the kids an assortment of entertainment. Getting service from someone walking around for drinks was a job in itself. Going to the bar yourself was faster and easier. 4 days before we got off the boat my parents and I ordered 2 NCL photo books. We were told that the books would be ready to pick up after 6pm on the last night of the cruise. We went to pick them up and was told that they aren't done yet and will be done at 10 PM. After 10pm, the books were still not ready and we could pick them up between 7-8 on the day we were leaving. The books were finally done about 20 minutes before we left the boat. The people in the photo center said their printers weren't working right. We assumed they were done with quality and didn't look at them right away. What a mistake! When we got home we finally looked through the books. The first book had pictures that didn't have proper toner. The second book was thrown together (literally). All of the pages on the left side are upside down. The price of these books were not cheap but the result was VERY disappointing. We tried calling NCL about the books but they didn't care enough and told us to fill out a customer service form online. Overall, I enjoyed the vacation except for those disappointing moments. This was my 9th cruise- 3rd with NCL. My first NCL wasn't the greatest cruise but I couldn't quite put my finger on if it was the company or ship I didn't care for. My second NCL cruise was fantastic but this last one wasn't one of my favorites. 2 out of 3 NCL cruises weren't great so I want to take a break from NCL and go back to Royal Caribbean or try another line.
