My mom wanted to cruise with Holland because of an excellent experience she had on another Holland ship years ago. She too was very disappointed with the overall experience of this cruise.

Dining room waiter was a highlight of the trip. The portions for dinner entrée were very small and took a fair length of time to receive our meaL There was never an option for requesting more even if we had wanted it. Food was so-so. Our waiter ordered extra desert our last two evenings and had delivered to our suite. That was an unexpected surprise.

We never saw our room attendant with exception to day of arrival. Our suite was not clean upon arrival and we had to ask for several items:towels, robes, sharps box, and distilled water for my moms CPAP. I had requested the box and water before we embarked the ship. Having traveled on several cruise lines I didn't think it was crazy to expect a vacuumed-clean and equipped suite.

Cabin Review

Signature Superior Verandah Suite

Our cabin was not clean when we arrived and with exception of daily towels and bed made no other cleaning was done. Obvious no vacuuming before we arrived or during our entire stay.

We had suite 5001 which was handicap equipped however the shower drain didn't work and the water flooded the entire bathroom every time my mom took a shower which she only did twice as she was afraid she would fall with all the water.. The storage space was ample for the three of us who were together.

Balcony light not functional so we limited our use sitting out there once the sunset.

NOT happy to have to pay "$16.00/day/person for gratuities since our room was not attended to like it should have been.

Port Reviews

Puerto Vallarta

Our ship was parked a fair distance from the terminal which required either alot of walking or waiting for a golf-cart type shuttle to and fro. We hired a local for the day- Filiberto. He was by far the greatest part of our trip and allowed us to see many things most do not.
