My wife and I have cruised several times, Caribbean, Alaska California coastal, Panama Canal etc. We have always had a wonderful time, This cruise was an unfortunate disappointment. We were booked into a handicapped room at the bow (front) of the ship. We noticed many passengers in the same area that utilized walkers, canes and even electric mobil scooters. Being that the only handicap we had was difficulty walking long distances, we immediately offered our room up to someone else that may have needed the large shower and larger room. We contacted Customer service. We never heard back from them, The issue with the NCL Getaway was that it was 130 paces from the cabin to the first elevators or stairs. Quite a walk several times a day. Coupled with that, there were always service carts along the narrow hallway which made it crowded if passengers were walking both ways. Our experience ion past cruises was that the luggage was put into the room when delivered. The luggage was left outside the room when it was finally delivered at about 7:30 pm. We boarded the ship at 12:30.

Although there were seven "complimentary" dining areas, three were cafe or buffet's there were three nice dinning areas, Savor, Taste and Tropicana. Unlike our past cruises we never had the same table and waiter. A bit disappointing. The other dining area was an Irish Pub with a limited menu, although the Rubin sandwich was very good. Actually the best meal we had was the one we paid for at the Cirque Dreams & Streams show ($35.00 each). Wonderful show but had to pay extra. We also ate in the "Specialty Restaurant",Cagney's. The service was terrible and the food mediocre. It took 15 minutes to take our order. We had reservations. It was another 15 minutes or so to get a drink and be served. AND, the waiter said they ran out of lettuce for a wedge salad and had no Romaine lettuce for a Caesar salad. Unacceptable! The worst part of the trip probably was the lack of friendly service. It took 20 minutes to get a drink order from a server in the Atrium when the bar was 10 feet away, I finally got up from the game we were playing and ordered a drink myself. Then our original drinks arrived. They were not the drinks we ordered. Perhaps the crew needs a team meeting to critique some of the issues. I generally would not write a review like this, but the more passengers I spoke with who had the same complaints the more I felt I would write this review. I want to add that NCL was the first cruise we ever went in several years age. It was amazing, fun and left happy memories. I'm so sorry this cruise did not do that.
