A bucket list trip that may be the only time we do this ... wanted to ‘see it all’! We joined the ship in Amsterdam. We were met at the airport by Viking reps and quickly taken to the Viking Baldur at the port. Great assistance with luggage at the airport - getting luggage onto the ship was a bit sketchy - minimal assistance. Departed on time. The Included shore excursions throughout were excellent. Most required a significant amount of walking, but hills and obstructions were minimal. Guides were English speaking throughout and excellent. Special cities - Nuremberg where we took a special tour of WWII sites; Vienna; Budapest; and Prague. Staff.on board was exceptional - friendly, helpful, courteous, willing to do whatever to meet our wants and needs. Food - too much, too often, too good. The food choices were great and regional tastings were excellent. The cabin was small, but well laid out and everything worked well. The veranda was a plus on many occasions - we enjoyed it night and day. Great sleeping environment. All of the Viking plans and itinerary worked without a flaw. We used Viking free air and were pleased with this option. We did not have to change ships owing to high or low water. All connections were on time. The trip was not ‘cheap’ in any regard but it exceeded our expectations. We would do it again ... and recommend it strongly.
Great location ... close to the lobby, but not too close to be noisy. We liked the level / deck we were on.
