We chose this cruise because we were told that the cruise was the same as all of the carnival cruises we have taken. They were not even close! My husband and I actually lost weight on this cruise because as it turns out the dairy products on the cruise are UHT (dairy) not pasteurized and as it turns out we had to have salads for most of our meals as it was the only thing I was not allergic to. Anything besides American brewed coffee has to be paid for which is outrageous. The little entertainment onboard is horrible, it was limited to opera and boring-ass attempts at a Cirque Du Soleil type show! The few activities onboard are things like origami art which is limited to 50 people. The majority of the staff sucks! The passengers were very rude and had no manners! No proper info on excursions, no shuttle buses available to take you to the entrance to ports! The company has a million announcements daily trying to sell you packages. I would not take another MSC Cruise even if the company paid me to do so. the ship was a floating hotel picking up passengers and dropping passengers off at almost every port. All and all we have been on many, many cruises and this by far is the worst experience we have ever encountered. I can honestly say that MSC a We saved for 2 years for this vacation and we are truly disappointed. I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau. Basically, this has been the worst vacation of our lives! We actually could not wait for the cruise to be over! MY WIFE GOT FOOD POISONING AS THE MILK IS NOT U.S.A PASTEURIZED THEY USE BOX MILK AND ALMOST DIED. THIER F

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

The cabin was fine but realized that we should have been upgraded due to our gold status on carnival. The cruise line did nothing to upgrade us although we told them and showed them our gold card status.

Port Reviews

Casablanca

My phone was stolen in casablanca. No excursion details are given! Most of the other passengers told us they had something stolen in casa blanca as well. However, they dock there for 12 hours. Leaving us all as live bait. I booked my colosseum and vatican fast passes ahed of time as the cruise wanted 500 euros for just the vatican. When another passenger heard that i did this he got upset and said we were selfish the staff did nothing. The staff does nothing not even places nearby to exchange money or do they warn you as what to do. You have to kook out for yourself. Another american passenger also got sick and was given the wrong diagnosis by the cruise ship doctor he ended up having to go the a hospital in a port to get real help and medication.

Tenerife

Did it on my own sadly we only had 5 hours in this island. I was able to have a quick lunch with my cousins. Found out the ship had to pay a lot to stay longer on some ports so they cheat people of time.

Malaga

Did it on our own, however again only 5 hours in a beautiful place. We managed to get off the ship fast walk fast and see picaso on our own. Always knowing that if we did not return the ship or floating cheap motel did not care.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Had to as the ship only gave us 8 hours and the port is 90 min to rome so had to overpay 120 eruo in order to see the things we had paid for 2 months in advance. Can you say msc steaks your money?

Genoa

Horrible raining all day could not even take public transportation and the port is boring. Would have gone on a train on my own if it was not purring so bad. The ship did nothing to make sure we even had rain caps however they were selling them at a high price. Some people got sick after getting out in this port from the rain and the ships lack of hospitality towards peoples health.

Marseille

Rude overpriced boring place. We went on our own to see an old port walked there. Again watching every second. Saw a young american couple only 3 americans couples onboard total. They had 2 small kids and could not afford the excursions or overpriced museums here. They just walked around.
