We regularly travel for work between Melbourne and Adelaide, and decided to take a Cruise for a change rather than driving. Chance to see Port Lincoln and Kangaroo Island as well which would be a new experience. Splashed out on Cabin S507 - Suite for around $7K + for the two of us for 5 nights. Overall a big disappointment from the outset with the variosu Suite offerings only being made available to us 2-3 days into a 5 night cruise. The state of the Suite (brown water running out of the taps, Deck furniture in a bad state of repair, rust staining everywhere on verandah, unclean verandah until the 2nd night, light fitting hanging out of ceiling, ceiling panels dislodged, excessive vibration when rear thruster used - enough to shake glasses off tables, door seals around the sliding door ineffective) Overall not good.
Food quality was also disappointing overall - Sabatinis is very ordinary, Main dining is just OK. Other Cruise Lines leave this ship in the shade with regards to dining experiences.
The ship was very crowded being at full capacity. A trip to the Buffet anywhere near meal times saw you sitting outside in the cold such was the way the other travelers were sitting and reserving tables and lingering about. Only good dining experience was Crown Grill but cost us an extra $70 as a cover charge.
Many issues - The state of the Suite (brown water running out of the taps, Deck furniture in a bad state of repair, rust staining everywhere on verandah, unclean verandah until the 2nd night, light fitting hanging out of ceiling, ceiling panels dislodged, excessive vibration when rear thruster used - enough to shake glasses off tables, door seals around the sliding door ineffective) Overall not good.
Taste of Port Lincoln - Very Good
