I recommend this cruise to everyone I know. It's the perfect way to get an introduction to Scandinavia and by far the best way to see St. Petersburg, Russia. Everything about the cruise was stress free and very well organized, the medallions were incredibly easy to use.
Embarkation:
Embarking in Warnemunde was the fastest and most painless experience I have ever had with a cruise. We took the train from Berlin HBF for about 20 euros per passenger (cheaper, more flexible option than the Princess transport and the train LITERALLY drops you at the cruise terminal), 5 minute walk from train to the cruise check in, then within 20 minutes we were in our stateroom. Highly recommend the embarkation out of Berlin rather than other ports (people board and disembark at almost every port, majority from Copenhagen) because we were able to spend a few nights in Berlin before boarding and still had time after checking in to go explore Warnemunde before our 7:30pm safety drill.
Phenomenal! Perfect location near the concierge lounge (which has 24 hour coffee and tea, plus snacks at designated time) and easy to access elevators or a quick jump up two flights of stairs to the buffet. Wonderful views from balcony, very private. Excellent in cabin service. Suite class was worth every penny, comfortably slept three adults and was cheaper than two separate rooms. Pull out bed was surprisingly comfortable and could comfortably sleep two kids or one adult. Regular beds were superb. Bathroom was enormous including a separate bathtub. We loved the in cabin entertainment programming on TVs (two in room) for relaxing nights after long days exploring.
Definitely need to go back, take the train from Nynashamn for a cheaper and more flexible way to get into the city
Very charming city to wander and window shop!
Impossible to see in a day, luckily we spent some time there before embarking
