We had always wanted to see the fall leaves in the NE and this trip did not disappoint. The ports were perfect and even when weather prevented us from going into St John the cruise staff made it a fun day at sea. Our room had plenty of space with lots of drawers, shelves and closet space. We like an interior room because we spend most of our time out and about watching shows, playing games, listening to music or walking the ship. We also like the darkness because we could sleep a little later without daylight coming in. The food was fantastic, lots of seafood and chocolate. There is something for everyone. The Horizon buffet is very good and not your typical cafeteria food. The entertainment on this cruise was some of the best I’ve seen. There was music, all types, comedy and tons of interactive trivia gameshow type activities. We have been on many cruises and this ship is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. I was worried when I saw how many passengers it held but it never felt crowded. The Piazza is very large with tons of sitting areas so lots of people could be there but it was never cramped.

We had an inside cabin because we never really spend much time in our cabin. It was very roomy with lots a storage space

Newport
We took an Uber to The Marble Mansion based on a recommendation from a waiter and it was a great recommendation. We would go back to see more mansion and plan to in the near future
Boston
We walked to the Northside and had a fantastic lunch at Monica’s. Authentic Italian. They use a homemade pear mustard that I hunted every where to buy. (They didn’t sell it, darn). We then had to find our way to Cheers for a nice cold beer. It’s so iconic that we couldn’t pass up being totally tourist. Boston has so much history and is so bea.
Bar Harbor
Our fav port of all. We had lunch at Stadium, recommended by our close friends who had just been there 2 weeks prior. Fantastic lobster roll, cold beer and the best part, blueberry pie. The pie was homemade from wild blueberries and was the best pie I’ve ever had. We then took the hop on hop off tour of the city. We had a great guide who knew all the history and told very interesting stories. After the bus I decided I needed another piece of pie for breakfast the next day, unfortunately the cafe closed about 5 min before we got there. Probably saved me from going even more weight. Ha
Halifax
We ate a yummy lobster roll at a restaurant close to the dock and then walked to see the Maud Lewis exhibit at the art gallery. What an inspiring story and incredible art. We then hopped on the bus and went to the Public Gardens for a stroll. I would love to see it in the spring when all the flowers are blooming but the trees made up for it. We then hopped back on the bus to finish the tour. Before boarding the ship we wandered through the Farmers Market and then sat outside and had a cold beer. Weather started cooling down so we headed back to the ship.
New York (Manhattan)
We didn’t do anything NYC this trip but it is a fun and exciting city.
