The cruise was chosen for the itinerary despite travel agents caution about NCL quality. The cruise did not visit several stops supposedly due to weather. Whereas three scheduled stops and two substitute locations (Amsterdam, Iceland, France, Scotland) were cancelled, NCL went to two additional Norway locales which had minimal facilities for tourism. They then claimed that they met their commitment with seven of eight stops even though five were in Norway and two in Ireland. It's like taking a trip to New York and instead having the tour company stop at a service area along the highway. They also claimed to provide a second day in Dublin that only extended from midnight to 1 a.m.

I believe the NCL organization lacks integrity and puts money well ahead of guest convenience. One example, immediately after we checked in they stated we would not go to Amsterdam - a piece of information they kept quiet beforehand. Also, their offer to make up for the inconvenience was 25% off another cruise which is only slightly more than they were offering for future bookings.

Guest inconveniences included workers coming through the cabin during the day to varnish balcony rails and shutting off water during the night for "preventive maintenance".

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

The cabin was reasonably comfortable but had several issues. End table and foot stool were absent. There as only one 110 outlet for which we had to get a power strip so that we could run to three or four connections around the room. The TV had intermittent problems both sound and on/off. The toilet would occasionally not flush - one time for several hours.

Check internet and social media regarding this cruise.

Port Reviews

Southampton

Inadequate facilities to house everyone waiting to board. NCl staff appeared not to have a process in place and seemed unfocused.

Dublin

the 1500 year old buildings and the ncient graves were impressive.
