We chose this cruise primarily for the itinerary. Secondarily, we had prior experience with the Princess brand and felt that we could expect a certain standard. In this aspect, we were thoroughly disappointed.
Our embarkation was delayed half a day due to required extra sanitation because so many passengers on the prior cruise had suffered gastrointestinal illnesses.
The Caribbean Princess was refurbished this year. Despite this, our stateroom had maintenance issues. The carpeting was stained. The wooden trim was broken and missing above the doorway. The TV worked only when it felt like it. The lighting above the desk and the only available electric outlets went on the fritz halfway into the cruise. The "Medallion" which is your room key and access to anything on board, failed FOUR times and needed replacing.
The cabin was clean, comfortable and generally quiet. This ship was refurbished this year, yet despite that the carpeting was stained, there was missing grout in the bathroom and the grout present had some mold. The shower was so slow to drain that by the end of a four or five minute shower, one would be ankle deep in water and the bottom of the shower curtain had mold. Electrical issues resulted in lights and outlets sometimes being inoperable. The television was sketchy. Wooden trim moulding above the doorway was missing. Just not the quality we would have expected based on prior experiences.
Excellent overview of the city from the comfort of a clean, modern coach and under the direction of a kind local, Sandrine. Highly recommend!
Bus tour overview of the city.
Fabulous 90 minute overview of the city with 13 stops/opportunities to exit the bus, tour the area and rejoin later.
Very nice New England village. Quaint with excellent dining opportunities.
