We had been planning with some friends of doing a New England Fall colors tour for more than a year and selected this cruise due to (1) reasonable cost and (2) itinerary and (3) prior experience with Princess. We have always enjoyed Princess for it's service, dependable food, and moderate pricing. Some highlights of our cruise:

A. We were a bit startled when we received an email about a day before boarding (NYC) informing us that we would be boarding late due to a virus outbreak on the previous cruise. This left us a bit apprehensive but it turned out well because very few people got sick on our week. One major reason for this was Princess went to extraordinary lengths making sure passengers didn't touch food in the buffet area and that we all washed and sanitized our hands before eating or socializing with other passengers (I've never washed my hands so much in my life!) All in all, the results were worth it though.

B. Leaving from New York City harbor at sunset is a great experience! Went close to the Statue of Liberty and a great view of Manhattan sailing away. This was partly due to great weather on most of our trip (only the last several days in Canada were a bit rainy and cool).

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BC

Standard Princess Balcony layout. Good size sleeping/relaxing room. Bathroom a little cramped especially on counter space. Good hangup storage and (finally for once), plenty of hangers.

Port Reviews

Newport

A small port but we enjoyed a beautiful day. Took a local shuttle bus around town and got off to walk the famous walk along the cliffs and seaside where we enjoyed the mansions of the older day rich (Vanderbilts, etc) and also enjoyed a surprising number of surfers.

Boston

Very historic place but traffic is almost bad as New York - enjoyed the major sights
