I have been on many cruise lines and several cruises over the years and unfortunately, this was my first and last Princess cruise. We were celebrating our anniversary as we saw several other couples were and chose this cruise for it being more adult orientated and minimal kids.. this was definitely true. However, we were met with disrespect from staff when trying to engage in the activities we had paid for through their upgraded anniversary package. In the package you get a meal at one of the specialty dining places. Prior to our arrival, we had chosen the location and date of such place. When on the ship, we asked the front desk if they could let us know the time of our dinner, in which we were redirected back to our room to make the phone call to the dining reservation line (this would have been no problem if staff had told us upon arrival to go to the front desk). When calling the line, I was greeted with "I have been trying to get a hold of you" in which neither mine or my husbands phones had missed calls and neither did our stateroom. Thank you kind lady for yelling at me to tell me you have been trying to get a hold of me.. great lie to be told on day one. Next, with our package, you receive a couple's massage. We go up to the spa to book such massage which we are met with a confused look by the staff about such massage and them telling/asking us if it is a 25 minute should massage? So are you trying to low ball us or do you not have any record of us having a massage. We then are informed to check with the front desk staff, again. Head back down, check with front desk, met with confusion, and they call the spa in which says we are good to. So why did you have us go, wait in line for 30 minutes, for that? Thank you, we appreciate it. You also get a complimentary 8x10 photo. We had put a photo from the first night on hold that we both liked. On the last night we went to pick up and use our package to pay for it. We are met with, confusion and hostility by the photography staff as we need to provide the card that indicates we get this photo.. we were never given a card, yes we asked if she could verify in the computer our package in which we were met with another rude no and yelling from staff that we need this card in order to redeem it. I obviously over frustrated by what should be our romantic anniversary get away let the lady know that we don't have this card so therefor it's a waste of money. My family and I (by family I mean the 20+ of us) are avid cruisers. We plan to go on a cruise every other year and they as well as my husband and I, will not be using Princess due to their disrespect, poor customer service, and ultimately, ruining our, what should have been, romantic & relaxing getaway. We were very hopeful because some times cruises are tough with all the kids running around, but I will gladly take the hospitality and kid noises over a Princess cruise again.
