We chose this cruise for the itinerary as we had cruised in the Mediterranean previously and wanted to see somewhere different. We stayed in the Blue Keys Hotel in Southampton which was really lovely, we had an excellent meal there. I would recommend as it approximately 10 minutes from the port. Embarkation went very smoothly, no queueing. While the ship was lovely there was less to do on board compared to the Jewel of the Seas which had a rock climbing wall, pool table, mini golf and a sports court, also there was more entertainment in the various bars and certainly more seating. We felt that the ship was very crowded, we were on the second sitting in the Cuvee MDR and having finished our meal we found it almost impossible to find a seat to enjoy the entertainment in the Passport bar. We would then have to trawl the bars looking for seats. On the last silent disco evening we had to pull stools from the Casino in order to sit down. There were 2 couples in our party and having spent almost €10,000 (this included flights and hotel stay in Southampton) between us we felt this was not good enough. There was a similar situation in the Ocean View at breakfast and lunch which felt chaotic at times and also in Cafe al Bacio, a beautiful space but with not enough seating. We found this very frustrating. Another issue was the fact that they ran out of drinks several times, we felt having spent a fair amount of money on the classic drinks package that this was unacceptable. When we went to customer services to complain we were told that the Beverage Manager was too busy to come and talk to us, which was very bad form indeed. We had already complained to the bar staff but the buck stops with the Beverage Manager. There should have been more space between the sunbeds, they were so cramped which would be ok if you knew the person on the sunbed beside you but way to close for comfort if you didn’t!! I have to give full credit to the staff and crew they were all excellent, so professional and friendly. Overall we had a good time but Celebrity really need to sort out these issues and give customers what they have paid for.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 1A

Cabin 1A

The cabin was spacious with lots of storage and the bed was so comfy, our attendent Benny was excellent. We upgraded to a balcony 2 months before we sailed and I am so glad we did as the balcony added a whole new dimension to our experience. One of my favourtite things was sitting on the balcony with a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. A wonderful experience!
