We were on a cruise with Mr Bridge and about 70 others in our group.we booked early with Mr Bridge and the offer of 2 for 1. Great value for money. Less good was the change of itinerary some time after booking. We were informed of a change from Stockholm to Nynashamn, however none of us received notification of a change from Amsterdam to Rotterdam. In addition passengers were expected to pay the cost of the transfers to the original destinations. Eventually after some protracted communications we were offered cabin upgrades.
The Baltic cruise is special, with great cities on offer to explore. We had previously visited some of the cities. For new ports were Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Rostock / Wanermunde and Helsinki. We used the shuttles when available and either self guided or chose the excellent freewalks. The only tours booked were in St Petersburg. Our 2 half-day tour with CMV were very disappointing. Too much time travelling and in the same tourist shop, too little time in the Spilled Blood Church and Peter and Paul Fortress. My advice is to book through an independent operator. We also attended the evening ballet to see Sleeping Beauty which was enjoyable and well organised.
Just a few comments about the ship:
We were upgraded from an inner to a lovely Ocean view cabin. Plenty of storage space and good en- suite bathroom.
We took the free shuttle and a Freewalk. Interesting city for a one-off visit.
Self guided walk from the ship to the Little Mermaid, the Royal Palace andthe centre. Insufficient time for much else
Took the shuttle in and enjoyed a stroll around the Market square and cathedral. Took the train to Wanermunde for a stroll around and lunch. A very pleasant day.
S lovely city we had visited before. Took the hop-on hop-off us to visit the distant Palace gardens and the Rural Museum. The latter was most interesting.
Took the shuttle and a great Freewalk. Lovely atmosphere.
Docked next to the city, and enjoyed strolling around.
