Prior river cruise experience with Viking was excellent. We wanted to visit the Baltic ports and expected the same level of experience on Viking's ocean cruise ships.
There was almost a complete lack of on board entertainment. Most consisted of a string duet, a pianist and guitarist playing classical music. Only 5 shows in the theatre on a 14 day cruise and nothing during two deadly boaring sea days. The shows that were performed were reminiscent of karaoke.
Enrichment was poor and consisted mainly of trying to pitch shore excursions.
The main dining room was excellent for both the menu and service. The specialty restaurants are best avoided. Average food variety and quality with exceptionally poor service.
The passenger demographic could be best described as ancient which nay have influenced the entertainment.
Overall, the cruise was disappointing. At the price point, there are much better choices, even non premium lines would be superior.
The cabin met expectations for size, cleanliness and service for the premium price.
The guide was unenthusiastic. Too much time spent at lacklustre sites.View All 193 City Tour Reviews

Not too much to do here.
Did the Flam railway. That itself was worth doing, but the lengthy bus ride was not enjoyable.
Nice view. Save yourself a lot of money by booking yourself. You can walk to the funicular in 20 minutes from the dock and buy a ticket at a fraction of the excursion cost.View All 56 Mount Floyen Reviews
