Cabin: Ocean Suite

We chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary. Bermuda was one place we looked forward to visit and an overnight in Charleston was an extra plus, as there was much we enjoyed seeing in this historic city.

We enjoyed the old style Carnival ship with the atrium lobby and full length glass elevators, something that Carnival is mistakenly removing from its new ships. We feel The New Light Tower atriums are not nearly as dramatic.

The inside Lido restaurant area was always crowded forcing us to use Guy’s Burgers and Blue Iguana more than usual.

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite

The Cabin was definitely roomier, but we were disappointed that the Trundle Bed that is advertised is not used. Instead a rollaway bed was used and it took up valuable cabin space all day long, even when folded up and stored off to the side.

Although I don’t have photos the Cabin showed it’s age. The bed skirt was frayed, our bathroom sink bowl was cracked, and there was visible rust on stainless steel trim around the doorways. The room had an odor for one day which was kinda gross. Wether it subsided by itself or housekeeping remediated it, we weren’t sure, but we were glad it was gone.

Port Reviews

Charleston

We enjoyed Historic Charleston tremendously. We came in after Hurricane Dorian and the town was open and very welcoming. We only wish that we had more time to explore this interesting area.

Nassau

Nassau was unexpected, as our schedule was changed due to the hurricane. We walked the downtown harbour area and ate lunch at Senor Frogs. Our group also enjoyed Pirate Republic Brewery’s brew pub. Everyone enjoyed a cold sample before getting back on board.
