I had been looking for an Adriatic cruise that went to almost all the ports for 2 years and finally found it on Infinity. Having cruised on Celebrity 16 times in the past, I was looking forward to our Voyage. For the most part I was extremely satisfied but little things dampened my experience. The ports all exceeded my expectations. In Koper, we took the HOHO bus to Piran. It was excellent. There is virtually nothing to see in Koper itself. I went into old town and was back in my cabin in 30 minutes. From Zadar we went to Plitvice Lakes Natl Park on a private tour with 4 other couples. It was terrific. The next day in Split we had another private tour which also was outstanding. Our next day was in Dubrovnick. This started a group of ports where the ship promoted a shuttle bus that you had to pay for. They never mentioned that you could walk about 1/3 mile off the ship and get a city bus that took you to the old city's main gate. Kotor, our next stop was good. From Catania we took a train to Syracuse which was a better experience that Catania. Our next 2 stops were Palma and Ibiza. Again there was shuttle bus "for sale" in Palma (20 Euros RT). The traffic was awful and the return trip was totally disorganized. No one knew where to get our bus since there were multiple ships in town and no spot identified for ours. Again in Ibiza a "for sale" shuttle bus. No one mentioned that for 1/2 the price you could take the City boat to town.
It is these little things that irk me. Why not just increase the cruise price $50 and offer free shuttles?
The food was Celebrity good. Both my wife and I have always liked Celebrity's cooking. Our waitstaff was excellent. We had select dining and a reservation every night at 8PM. For the 1st 10 nights we had the same table, then the host gave our table away on night 11!!! The also aggravated me as we had bonded with our servers and the new table and waiter were not even close to what we had experienced. The entertainment was excellent. It was more for us with fewer special effects and more singing and dancing. The Celebrity orchestra is always a PLUS. I don't usually like Magicians but tolerated that show and was rewarded by the next him showing us how he did a few of his tricks. The Captain gave a great enrichment lecture on navigating the ship. I also thoroughly enjoyed Luigi, the cruise director, with whom I had sailed previously. He was often greeting passengers leaving at ports and was there to say goodbye on disembarkation day
Basic, plenty of drawer space. Attendant was fine
