We sailed around the Adriatic on Celebrity Infinity. We embarked in Venice and probably the biggest disappointment of the whole holiday was that the ship’s departure was delayed by several hours so that the sail away from Venice was in darkness. We had really been looking forward to a spectacular start to the cruise so were bitterly disappointed.
From then on, the cruise fully lived up to our expectations. Whilst the ship is a bit tired in places, it is still very comfortable and well laid out with none of the queues and crowding that we have experienced on other ships. The crew are very friendly and provide excellent service.
We had a balcony cabin and were at the stern of the ship. I had put in a cheeky bid for a family cabin using Celebrity’s new scheme and we were rewarded with two rooms and a huge balcony. This was cabin 9199 which did have a drawback as it was directly below the Ocean View Bar and the movement of tables and chairs above was quite intrusive. The cabin service was efficient and unobtrusive.
Great spacious cabin with two rooms and enormous balcony looking out over the stern of the ship.Room for a table and four chairs plus two sunbeds on the balcony
Down side was it was directly below the Ocean View bar and the moving of tables and chairs above was very noisy sometimes early in the morning and late at night.
Pleasant enough for a Sunday morning stroll
Beautiful city with lots going on
Go early in the morning as it gets really crowded. walk the walls for spectacular views if you have the energy
Beautiful old buildings but is in a state of decay
Bustling city with beautiful cathedral.
We had awful experience with transfer back to the ship
Recommend the water taxi service from the cruise terminal. Old town is busy and bustling
Beautiful walled city but do go early as it can get really crowded
Visit the old part of the city and you will not be disappointed. Long transfer from the cruise terminal though
