This was our first Viking cruise, and overall we were thrilled with our experience. Looking for a cruise with more stops, and no sea days in the mediterranean, this was a great option.

Service was king, and clearly on the minds of every staff member we encountered. From checkin to waitstaff... we were treated very well.

The only major complaint was not being able to wear shorts in the dining room. This was pretty ridiculous. The rules don't say explicitly that we couldn't wear shorts. I wear pressed shorts and most days had a nice linen button up shirt on, with either sneakers or birkenstocks. Given that it was HOT in most ports and we were tired at the end of the day... being met with resistance at our wardrobe was not welcome.

Cabin Review

Cabin Junior Suite

Overall we were thrilled with the cabin. The ONLY 2 complaints have to do with the TV in the room. First, there was no sleep timer. This is basic, but such a nice feature to not have to worry about turning the TV off. Second, the wall where the TV was must be pretty thin, because we sadly heard the TV of our neighboring stateroom through the wall. it was ANNOYING. They were old, and often would leave their TV on. Ours had a volume limit, and it felt like theirs did not. It really sucked to hear the news blaring through the wall.

Otherwise, the bathroom was awesome, the bed could have been softer... it was very hard.

Port Reviews

Venice

Loved Venice... great city to spend extra time in, though I would recommend getting to Piazza San Marco EARLY in the morning, or don't bother at all. Explore the city... walk far from the main touristy areas.

Naples

Very good and informative

Sete

We hopped on the train to Montpelier... and that town was incredibly beautiful. The shopping, the food, outdoor eating. Extremely surprised at how nice that city is. Didn't spend time in Sete, as it was just the port city.

Barcelona

Words don't do Barcelona justice... you just have to go. Ask locals where to get great tapas... like where THEY go. We loved La Boqueria... so many delicious treats. The city is BIG, but very walkable.
