We took the northernglacier cruise, cabin 2034 with window,, with stops in Icy Point, Juneau,Skagway, and Ketchikan and a 8A cruise tour that included 1 night in Anchorage and in Talkeetna and 2 nights in Denali NP. The cruise tour cost more than double the cruise cost. A veranda is fairly useless as the weather typically is rainy and too cold-very low 60s.

Food service was excellent but anytime dining did nt work well. We were advanced reserved for 7pm but onboard we were told on many days that was not available. Thanks to a manager from a past cruise most of the 7 pm slot at table 323 were restored. Sirlloin steak anytime optin levares muchto be desired and if you liked dessert cheesecake it was only available inthe main dining and not at Bacio.

We booked 2 excursions, Icy Point whaling where we were guaranteed whales and saw humpbck and orcas, and Skagway where we again(15 years before) rode the rr. Very little in Icy Point other than shops at the terminal, townitself is 2 blocks long withnothing really to visit. In Juneau we booked M&M tours glacier express, $42 pp, RT to Mendenhall Glacier VC and walked to the glacier viewpoint, also saw bears feeding in the fenced off area by the bus drop-off. Other ports are 3-4 blocks long by 2 blocks deep with typical old time saloon and t-shirts and tanzanite galore-much more commercialized than 15 years ago.
